Dramatic atmospheric options in Jupiter’s northern hemisphere are captured on this view from NASA’s Juno spacecraft. The brand new perspective exhibits swirling clouds that encompass a round function inside a jet stream area referred to as “Jet N6.”

This color-enhanced picture was taken at 1720 GMT on 12 February 2019, because the spacecraft carried out its 18th shut flyby of the gasoline big planet. On the time, Juno was about 13,000 kilometres (eight,000 miles) from the planet’s cloud tops, above a latitude of roughly 55 levels north.

Citizen scientist Kevin M. Gill created this picture utilizing knowledge from the spacecraft’s JunoCam imager. The picture has been rotated roughly 100 levels to the precise.
