NASA’s Curiosity Mars rover noticed this mud satan with one in all its Navigation Cameras round 11:35 a.m. native Mars time on 9 August 2020 (the two,847th Martian day, or sol, of the mission). The frames within the video have been shot over four minutes and 15 seconds.

Taken from the “Mary Anning” drill web site, this mud satan seems to be passing by means of small hills simply above Curiosity’s location on Mount Sharp. The mud satan is roughly half-a-kilometre to a kilometre away (one-third to a half-mile) and is estimated to be about 5 metres (16 ft) large. The mud plume disappears previous the highest of the body, so an actual peak can’t be recognized, nevertheless it’s estimated to be at the very least 50 metres (164 ft) tall.
